Abstract (EN)
In this study, it was aimed to investigate the effects of different sociodemographic characteristics, variables related to COVID-19 and personality organization on mask use attitudes within the framework of psychodynamic theory in the COVID-19 pandemic and four dimensions were created. These; Use, Warning, Obligation and Belief. In our study, in the evaluation of mask usage attitudes in terms of psychodynamic diagnosis; The Personality Organizations Inventory (IPO) developed by Otto Kernberg and his team to guide clinicians working in the dynamic school in evaluating personality organization was used. The sample consisted of 425 participants aged 18-65 years. The data were collected using the Demographic Information Form, the Mask Use Attitudes Form and the Personality Organization Inventory (KOREN). The analyses were conducted using IBM SPSS program. In the analysis of the difference between the numerical data of the two groups, the Mann-Whitney U Test was used because the data did not fit the normal distribution. Multivariate Dual Logistic Regression Analysis was then performed to determine the independent risk factors effective in mask wearing. A statistically significant relationship was found between gender and the warning (Warning) variable of those who did not wear masks from mask use attitudes. It has been observed that women tend to warn those who do not wear masks more than men. A positive relationship was found between the level of higher education and the Belief variable from mask use attitudes. The tendency of the participants who have relatives from the risk group in the house where they live to warn those who do not use masks was higher than those who did not have relatives from the risk group. The reality test score of the participants who did not believe in the protection of the mask was found to be statistically significantly higher than the score of the participants who believed in the protection of the mask. The findings of the study are discussed in the light of the existing literature. Finally, the limitations of the research and the recommendations were conveyed.
