Abstract (EN)
This study was carried out to evaluate the effects of high-reality simulator training in nursing students in terms of self-confidence and satisfaction on students after mastectomy, and their knowledge and skill levels in patient care management. The sample of the study consists of 78 students in the 4th grade of Recep Tayyip Erdogan University, Faculty of Health Sciences, Department of Nursing. A statistically significant difference was found between pre-test and post-test knowledge test scores of nursing students who received high-reality simulator training (p<0.05). No statistically significant difference was found between pre-test and post-test knowledge test scores of nursing students who received adult standard patientcare training (p>0.05). The responses given to the items in the knowledge test were examined one by one for the experimental and control groups, and it was found that the correct response rates of the experimental group, who received high-reality simulator training, were significantly higher than the control group (p<0.05). With the findings of the research, it was concluded that high-reality simulator training contributed more positively to patient care management after mastectomy, and students' self-confidence and satisfaction levels compared to those who received standard adult patient model training.
