Abstract (EN)

The main purpose of this research is; to examine the relationship between students' math anxiety and mathematical resilience and their differences according to sociodemographic variables. In this study, the relationship between math anxiety and mathematical resilience was examined using the relational screening model. The study group of the research consisted of volunteer students selected by easily accessible sampling method, studying in five high schools in Adana in the year 2021-2022. The Mathematical Resilience/Reliability Scale and the Mathematics Anxiety Rating Scale: Short Form (MARS-SF) and Personal Information Form were applied to the students as data collection tools. Frequency, percentage, t test for unrelated samples, Anova, Mann Whitney-U Test, Kruskal Wallis-H Test and Pearson correlation coefficient techniques were used within the scope of the research. As a result of the research, it was found that the math anxiety of female students is higher than that of male students, and the math anxiety of high school students whose parents are separated is higher than that of high school students whose parents are together. It was found that the mathematical resilience of the students attending the 10th grade was higher than the mathematical resilience of the students attending the 11th grade, and In addition, it was concluded that the mathematical struggle of the female students was higher than the mathematical struggle of the male students. It was determined that the mathematical development of the students whose mothers are working is higher than the mathematical development of the students whose mothers are not working, and the mathematical resilience of the students whose mothers are university graduates are higher than the mathematical resilience of the students whose mothers are high school graduates. It has been concluded that mathematical resilience is negatively related to mathematics anxiety.
