Abstract (EN)
In this study, Impressionism, French composer Maurice Ravel;s life, pieces, compositional approach and "Pavane For A Dead Princess" has focused on the analysis of his piece. The aim of this study is to bring a different perspective to M. Ravel;s works by highlighting musical expression in terms of composition and performance, and to create a resource for the performers who will study these piece. In addition, it is aimed that the work, which is the subject of the research, is examined in terms of musical and form, and that the piece will become a guide in the impressionist pianist repertoire. The research consists of four main parts, which are surrounded by introduction, conceptual framework, method, findings-interpretations, and conclusions. In the section of the study where M. Ravel;s life and piece are explained; The period when he was educated at the Paris Conservatory and his musical life, which started as a pianist and gradually turned to composition, were examined in detail. Since it is aimed to establish a concrete and direct relationship with the composer in the section where the technical and aesthetic features of M. Ravel understanding of composition are examined, examples of his other works are also included. In the fourth part of the research, Maurice Ravel and the Impressionism Movement: The Example of a Work Titled "Pavane For A Dead Prince" is examined in detail according to its period and musical features. However, after the writing story, which is a background in the emergence of a work, Pavane's work analysis was made and this analysis was supported by samples of musical notes, and then the conclusion part was passed.
