References to pre-hejira in medanî surahs

This thesis deals with the verses in the Medanî surahs that refer to the recent past (Makkah period) before the hejira. It is aimed to shed a light on the points indicated by making explanations in terms of the grammatical and subject of the references together with the landing reasons of the verses. From this point of view, it is aimed to evaluate some events and habitual behaviors that occurred during the Mecca period. Furthermore, with the intervention of the revelation, the events in Madinah will be addressed and the kinds of changes tried to be realized in the society and the messages desired to be given will be evaluated. In addition, what might be the aims, benefits and expectations of past references in the Qur'an will be investigated.
