Abstract (EN)

Sketch, which means preliminary work or draft, is a concept used in design arts. In recent years, computer aided design using computer technologies has been tried to be made and explained. The main purpose of this thesis is to examine the structure and function of sketch language in design studies. The importance, approach, and types of a sketch in design have been examined; the purpose has been developed in line with these approaches. The comparison of the computer aided designs of the famous architects with the sketches has been compared and they have been evaluated as a result of these comparisons. In the method section, from the point of view of Michel Foucault, sketches and computer-aided designs of famous architects with the criteria determined have been examined in this direction. Foucault's discourse analysis and informal (informal) interviews have been used during these examinations. One hundred and nine questionnaires have been conducted within the framework of the interviews, the opinions of the design users have been take and significant findings have been obtained on the importance and language of the sketch thanks to titles that have been revealed. The most remarkable of the findings that have been found is that the majority of users have the same perspective on sketching and computer-aided design. As a result, in this study, it has been shown that sketch orientation should be more and when this is blended with the design life, the expression language in the studies can be highly strengthened.
