Invesgation and cost analysis of drainage systems used in the rain water line in Toroslar district Sağlık quarter Mersin province

The changing demographic structure in cities along with the increase in urbanization and population causes various effects on the urban structure. As a result of the increase in the number of buildings and concreting area due to population growth, impermeable layers have concentrated throughout the city. Impermeable ground layers prevent rainwater from seeping into the subsoil, creating high acceleration in surface flows. As a result of this situation, natural disasters such as floods and overflows occur in the city. Loss of life and property may occur due to disasters indirectly caused by impermeable layers. To prevent this, various drainage systems are used in rainwater lines. Mersin Water and Sewerage Enterprise (MESKI) was established to provide water and sewerage services throughout the province of Mersin, and after the service area of Mersin Metropolitan Municipality covered the entire provincial borders with Law No. 6360, the service area of MESKİ expanded throughout the province. MESKİ is responsible for water distribution, wastewater collection and preventing the negative consequences of rainwater on the city. The study includes the examination and cost analysis of the drainage systems used in the rain water line in the Sağlık District of Toroslar district of Mersin province and It is the examination and comparison of materials and costs of the drainage system used with another drainage system.
