Abstract (EN)
In this study activated carbon, obtained from Acorn shell, was used as adsorbent material. Activated carbon was prepared by chemical activation with ZnCl2. The BET surface area was measured as 1082,4409 m2/g. Malachite Green was used as dye. Effects of initial dye concentration and temperature on adsorption were investigated. For four different initial concentrations were used for dye.. Coherence with two different adsorption isotherm were investigated, it was found that results comply with the Langmuir isotherm. Kinetic rate models were examined experimentally for three different temperatures with different initial concentrations. Our study was found to be in beter coherence with the Pseudo second-order model. Also, adsorption was found to be of reversible and endothermic character as a result of thermodynamic parameter calculations.
