Abstract (EN)

In literature, vocational training is used only for apprentices and students under the Vocational Education Law. However, every program that includes education related to professions can be called vocational training in one way or another. The importance of vocational training can be explained by the fact that it is one of the major requirements for a nation to have a skilled workforce. To provide good vocational training, those who receive vocational training must be effectively protected against the risks within the scope of the process. Social security emerges as an effective protection method against the risks involved in vocational training. Under social security, there are non-contributory regimes and social insurance types. These social protections are divided into short-term and long-term insurance branches according to risks. Therefore, classes that receive education related to their professions should be evaluated under insurance considering the nature of the vocational training process they are in against different risks. Indeed, while vocational training does not involve a regular employment relationship, it is not a mere education process either; it usually takes place within working life and thus may carry the risks of the work environment. The existence of adequate social insurance against these social risks is a necessity. Keywords: Vocational Training, Social Insurance, Student, Apprentice, Intern.
