Occupational safety in metal industry and risk analysis

This study was carried out on the basis of hardware factory which includes cooking oil cans and soda cover production lines in Temiz İş Teneke Ambalaj Trade and Industry Co. operating in metal sector. Production is divided into processes and observations are made in the workplace, chemical, physical, biological, ergonomic hazards, work equipment, machinery, tools and equipment potential hazards that occur during the process are identified. The risks were evaluated by applying the risk matrix chart assessment method. In line with the investigations and researches, the necessary measure of safety to prevent occupational accidents and diseases have been identified, and as a result of the risk assessment, improvement suggestions have been presented to reduce the risks to acceptable levels. History of occupational accidents in factory was researched. Consequences of those accidents such as destructions, physical injuries on workers were analyzed. New methods and control preventing applications have been suggested those accidents not top occur again.
