Examination of Mevlana İdris Zengin's children's literature products according to bibliotherapy elements

Purpose: This research aims to examine Mevlana İdris Zengin's children's literature products according to bibliotherapy elements. In order to determine the bibliotherapy elements, the literature studies were examined and the bibliotherapy criteria were determined. The developmental area of the identified bibliotherapy criteria was determined by taking the opinions of a group of 89 teachers. In this respect, 25 of the bibliotherapy criteria were associated with cognitive development, 17 with social development, and 7 with emotional development. The 58 works written by Mevlana İdris Zengin in the field of children's literature were examined in terms of bibliotherapy elements. Method: The research was carried out with the document analysis method, one of the qualitative research methods. The obtained findings were analyzed by descriptive analysis method. The works were examined through the Evaluation Form of Children's Literature Works According to Bibliotherapy Criteria prepared by the researcher. Results: As a result of the examinations, 1041 bibliotherapy elements were identified. Of these, 569 are related to the cognitive development area, 349 are related to the social development area, and 123 are related to the emotional development area. There were no findings related to physical and self-care development from other developmental areas. The findings are listed under development areas. Conclusion and Suggestions: At the end of the research, it is seen that the bibliotherapy elements that come to the forefront are the development of high-level thinking skills, increasing awareness about the events, supporting the love of literature by gaining reading skills and habits. In this context, it has been concluded that Mevlana İdris Zengin's children's literature products can be used in bibliotherapy studies.
