Various theoretical methods and corresponding computer programs exist which can be used to compute electromagnetic scattering by a cluster of several arbitrarily shaped (ellipsoid, sphere, Chebyshev particle, paraboloid, and etc) particles. Our investigation dedicated to problem of light scattering by a discoid (red blood cell) on a substrate, which is treated using Mie's solution for scattering by a spheroid in a homogeneous medium and a T-matrix method for calculating the scattering characteristics of spheroidal particles, like red blood cell. In this work the theoretical scattering solution for a plane wave incident normal an a lossy dielectric discoid (a/b=2) is obtained. Also scattering phase matrices are calculated for some orientations of discoid. Computational results and model show that there is general agreement for the internal and external intensity, far and near field functions for discoid with the same overall dimensions. Key Words: Light Scattering, Mie Scattering Theory, T-matrix Method, Chebyshev Particles, Erythrocytes. n
