Abstract (EN)

Metamaterials are the materials that exhibit unique electromagnetic properties that do not exist in nature. These unique properties of these materials make them indispensable for many application areas. Energy harvesting applications are one of these areas. In this study, metamaterial designs, simulation and experimental production-measurement studies were carried out for energy harvesting applications. The frequency range of 2,5-5,0 GHz was chosen as the operating range, and two different metamaterials were designed for energy harvesting in this range. With one of the designs, numerical studies were carried out by means of a simulation program based on the finite integration technique. According to the simulation results, it was revealed that the design was an excellent signal absorber. In addition, the numerical studies were carried out with the second metamaterial design and this design was experimentally produced and measured with a network analyzer. Finally, the results obtained from the numerical studies and the experimental results were compared. All the results of the study reveal that both proposed metamaterial structures have potentials to be used in energy harvesting applications.
