Investigation of the lime production in the modified eberhart kilns: Sample application at the Yilankale

In this thesis, samples are taken from the limestones in Ceyhan-Yilankale-Misis. Observations are based on the lime produced after calcinations the sample in a ash kiln. The parameters which effect the lime quality are searched for in these studies. Besides, studies are done by Akay Kireç Company Ltd in the kilns in order to observe the lime production in kilns like modified Eberhart. Surface area and porosity measurements are taken along with chemical analysis on limestone and lime samples. Additionally, active lime analysis is done on lime samples with petrographic analysis and XRF analysis of limestone samples. The limestone samples which are taken from the land are calcinate at 850oC, 900oC, 950oC and 1000oC in the laboratory and are analysed in a Sorptometer to see the changes in surface area and porosity. Upon to emission measurement and determine to break up cancerogenic feature of PAH?s. TUBITAK (MAM)'s teamwork's measurments in the lime kilns, show that canserogenic PAH's of petroleum coke which is receive 0.3 second and 900oC has jaged.
