Analysis of the work Mollâ Ömer b. Ahmet el-Çelî el-Maî Şerh-u Risale fi İlmi'l-logic

Hakkari, is a region where many scholars were raised in terms of cultural and scientific ways. We don't have much information about his life, but Molla Ömer b. Ahmet el-Çelî el-Maî is one of the thinkers who grew up in this region. When the works attributed to Mollà Ömer at the Turkish Manuscripts Institution are examined, we can reach some information about his life and scholarly personality. When the works dedicated to him are examined, we see that he compiled many works on philosophy, logic, natural sciences and Islamic sciences in accordance with the scientific tradition of his time. When we pay attention to his writing specifically on logic, it is seen that he exhibited approach logic of his period that he lived. In this context, it is seen that he continued this tradition in one of the works that he authored Şerh-u Risale Fi İlmil logic. Many records of his works can be found in libraries both in Turkey and Abroad. In the mentioned work, by focusing on the views of the Islamic scholars before him, he addresses knowledge in the form of tasawwurât (concepts) and tasdikât (propositions) and includes the analysis of the different views of the logic scholars on the definition of knowledge. In our study, the life of Molla Ömer, the general summary of the works he has written in the field of logic and the analysis of the work Şerh-u Risale filmi-mantık-logic, which is the main subject of the thesis, are made.
