Abstract (EN)

This study is conducted in the trial field of ADU Faculty of Agriculture - Crop Science Department in the years of 2011-2012 and 2012-2013. The aim of the study is to determine the effects of different sowing systems on yield and some agronomic characteristics in maize-soybean intercropping. The research, based on a randomized complete block design in split plots with three replications and have 7 treatments. PR31G98 maize variety and Sa88 soybean variety is used as a material. Plant height, number of ears per plant, number of pods per plant, ear length, number of grains per ear, thousand grain weight, crude protein content, soil porosity, soil stiffness, aggregate size, the total phosphorus content of the soil, the total content of potassium, nitrogen, carbon and magnesium content , legume content of chlorophyll a and chlorophyll b, the relative frequency coefficient (RFC), competitiveness (C), potential grain yield and yield loss (PYL) will be determined, as well as making comparison of grain yields from intercropping to sowing each product individually, by determining LER (Land Equivalent Ratio).
