Abstract (EN)
The purpose of this study is to examine the selected physical and motor parameters of Gendarmerie and Coast Guard Academy (JSGA) students who do and do not do combat sports according to various factors. The universe of the study consists of male participants who are active in kickboxing, taekwondo and wrestling in Ankara province. The sample group of the study consists of male participants who are registered in JSGA and who do and do not do active sports in kickboxing, taekwondo and wrestling. A total of 60 students who do combat sports and 55 students who are not athletes, 20 kickboxing, 20 wrestling and 20 taekwondo, between the ages of 18-24, were included in the study. All subjects were male students. The measurements were made in JSGA sports facilities. In the study, comparisons were made by looking at the age, height, body composition, speed, flexibility, agility, hand grip strength, back strength, leg strength, anaerobic power and aerobic power parameters of the athletes. SPSS 22 package program was used in the analysis of the data. The statistical significance level of the study was accepted as "p<0.05". According to the analysis results, it was determined that the speed, agility, anaerobic power, aerobic capacity, back strength and leg strength levels of JSGA students who regularly do combat sports outside of the training plan are better than those who do not do regular sports. In addition, no statistical difference was observed between hand-claw strength and flexibility levels. It was determined that there are similarities in physical and motoric terms among combat sports with similar features, but there may be differences depending on the working principles and the combat sport performed. It is known that JSGA students who do not regularly train for any sport outside of the course program do various and challenging physical activities in accordance with the general education curriculum. When the data belonging to this group are compared with the results of some studies conducted on sedentary individuals, it is seen that JSGA students, although not active in any sports, have better physical parameters and motor skills than sedentary individuals. When all these are evaluated together; It is thought that it is beneficial and necessary to give more place to sports activities, especially combat sports, in the education of JSGA students. In subsequent studies, it is recommended that the effects of combat sports on sociological, psychological, physiological parameters and professional efficiency of military school students, police school students and active security and public order personnel should be investigated.
