Determination of the yield and some quality features of different bread wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) varieties in Muğla Dalaman conditions

Aim: Determination of yield elements, grain yield and some quality characteristics of different bread wheat varieties in Muğla Dalaman ecological conditions. Material and Method: Kayra, Ziyabey-98, Cumhuriyet-75, Kılınç, Adana-99, Ceyhan-99, Kaynarca and Toros-1003 bread wheat cultivars were used as plant material in this study, which was carried out with 3 replications according to the randomized blocks trial design in the 2022 winter production season. Nitrogen fertilization was applied as the bottom and two top fertilizations, and 16 kg of pure nitrogen was used per decare. Findings: In the study, significant differences were determined between bread wheat varieties in terms of the characteristics examined except starch ratio. The average plant height of the cultivars is between 88.2 – 118.4 cm, the average number of ears per square meter is between 414 – 606, the average number of grains per ear is between 35.6 – 45.2, the average weight of 1000 grains is between 41.8 – 53.2 g, the average grain yield is between 6160 – 8650 kg/ha, average hectoliter weight is between 75.8 – 81.2 kg/hl, average protein ratio is between 13.87 – 16.8%, average starch ratio is between 65.7 – 71.5%, average crude ash ratio is between 1.59 – 1.72%, average crude fiber ratio is between 4.53 – 5.78% has shown. Conclusıon: Among the varieties, the Kaynarca variety attracted attention with its high yield and having the highest values in all other quality criteria, except for the raw ash ratio. In this respect, it has been concluded that Kaynarca variety can be successfully grown in our region as both an efficient and high quality variety.
