This study examines the jurisprudential issues in which Imam Zufar ibn al-Hudhayl (may Allah have mercy on him) differed from his teacher, Imam Abu Hanifa al-Nu'man (may Allah have mercy on him), in matters related to acts of worship — including purification, prayer, fasting, zakat, and pilgrimage. The research aims to collect these issues from their original sources and to analyze them through a comparative and analytical study in light of the evidences from the Sharia and the jurisprudential principles of the Hanafi school. It also seeks to clarify the scholarly reasons behind the differences between the two Imams and to highlight the methodological approaches each adopted in reasoning and preference. The study employs a descriptive, analytical, and comparative methodology by tracing the opinions of both Imams in the primary Hanafi sources, analyzing the evidences each relied upon, and clarifying the points of disagreement and their jurisprudential implications. The findings reveal that Imam Zufar was characterized by precision in reasoning, strength in ijtihad, and independence of thought grounded in evidence. His disagreements with his teacher, Imam Abu Hanifa, were scholarly and methodological, enriching the school without diverging from it. Furthermore, the Hanafi school is shown to possess a wide intellectual scope and methodological diversity, reflecting the depth of its juristic tradition and its balanced approach to the Sharia texts and objectives. The study concludes that Imam Zufar's opinions were founded upon sound principles of reasoning and deduction and that his independent views contributed significantly to the expansion and development of the Hanafi jurisprudence.
