Muhammed Ali es-Sâbûnî's approach to family law issues in Ravâi'u'l-beyân and Safvetü't-tefâsîr

This study comparatively examines how Muhammad Ali al-Sabûnî addresses the issues of Islamic family law in his works Ravâi'u'l-beyân and Safvetü't-tefâsîr. In his work Ravâi'u'l-beyân, Sabûnî, who interprets the ruling verses of the Quran, interprets the basic family law issues such as marriage, divorce, alimony and inheritance within the framework of Islamic principles and teachings. In his work Safvetü't-tefâsîr, while interpreting the entire Quran, he touched on the main and secondary issues of Islamic family law in a more concise manner and explained these issues in a style that especially young people can understand. In both of his works, Sabûnî presented detailed rulings on Islamic family law and put forward various views on these issues. The research is based on textual analysis and attempts are made to compare how Sabuni addresses, interprets and explains issues related to family law in his works Ravâi'u'l-beyân and Safvetü't-tefâsîr. During the study, Sabuni's works and other sources related to the subject were examined and attempts were made to identify similarities and differences. The study consists of an introduction and three main sections. The introduction section addresses the subject, purpose, method and sources of the study. In the first section, information is provided about Sabuni's life and works. In the second section, general information is provided about interpretation of provisions and Islamic family law. In the third section, provisions and principles regarding Islamic family law are examined through the interpretations of the relevant verses in Sabuni's two works. Marriage, divorce, alimony and inheritance issues were discussed and the provisions on these issues were researched.
