Abstract (EN)

Besides being Muslim judge advisor, Muhammed Sürûri is also figh scholar who works in the field of Islamic law. Ahkamu't-Talak, is one of the most important works of the author in terms of including the divorce issue, which has an important place in family law. Family Decree Law is the first family decree enacted by the Ottoman Empire. Although it remained in effect for a shrot time, it had a significant impact on both the Ottoman state and the states affiliated with the Ottoman Empire. This decree, which many studies have been done about itself, and Ahkamu't-Talak's work have been compared in our thesis. In the introduction, we have mentioned the subject, importance, purpose, method and various concepts that we think will contribute to working with resources on the subject. In the first part, we included information about the Ottoman law, in the second part the life and works of one of our authors, Muhammed Sürûri, and Family Decree Law. In the third part, we made a systematic comparison of our works. We tried to reveal the similarities and differences by examining the common and different issues in the work under one title. In the conclusion part, we expressed the points we reached with the comparison of the work.
