The conception of Qur'ān and naskh discussions in Muḥāsibī's Kitāb Fahm Al-Qur'ān wa Ma'ānīhi̇

The life of Ḥāris al-Muḥāsibī (d. 243/857) and his work entitled Fahm al-Qur'ān, in which the subject of naskh is predominantly dealt with, were analysed in the research and the author's view of both the Qur'ān and the phenomenon of naskh was observed. Since it attracted our attention that Muḥāsibī's Fahm al-Qur'ān elaborated on fifteen types of naskh, the problem of what differences and similarities there are between them and what kind of perspective they bring to the understanding of Qur'ān has been problematised. During the content analysis of the text, many inconsistencies were noticed. Nevertheless, it was determined that Muḥāsibī brought a very wide perspective to the subject of naskh in terms of tabdīl, bayān, raf', izāla, naql, takhṣīṣ and istithnā'. In addition, it has been determined that Muḥāsibī insistently emphasises the impermissibility of naskh in factual statements and news and the immutability of the word of God, but these views do not systematically progress throughout the work.
