Abstract (EN)
This study was carried out in 2023 to investigate the yield and quality characteristics of different sesame cultivars at two different sowing times under Muş conditions. The experiment was established according to completely randomized design with split plot arrangements with 3 replications. Plant height varied between 102.6 -146.9 cm, number of branches per plant varied between 2.8 - 5.7, first capsule height varied between 46.9-60.4 cm, number of capsules per plant varied between 30.5-55.2, number of seeds in per capsule varied between 36.2-58.9, thousand grain weight varied between 3.03-3.62 g, seed yield varied between 48.2-153.4 kg/da.oil content varied between 21.5 - 46.7%, oil yield varied between 16.5-60.6 kg/da. According to these results, among the 10 registered sesame cultivars tested, Tanas, Sarısu, Batem-Aksu, Batem-Uzun could be recommended in terms of seed yield and in terms of oil content Gölmarmara and Muganlı-57 cultivars could be recommended for Muş conditions. The second half of May was found more suitable sowing time.
