Mustafa Ruhi Şirin's children's poems and tales in terms of sensitivity education

In children's literature, poetry and fairy talesare an important species. Poetry attracts childrens attention most because of rhythmand harmony. Writing children's poetry and tales is also a masterpiece. Poems which have both therichness of literary language and the sensitivityt othe child with various messages have great importance in children's literature. Fairy tales, which provide a wide range of possibilities, and suitable for allegorical expression, are very important in terms of children's literature. In this context, Mustafa Ruhi Şirin is one of the important names in children's literature. Mustafa Ruhi Şirin, directs this area of poetry with the books he has written for children. This study was carried out in order to examine children's poem and fairy tale from the perspective of Mustafa Ruhi Şirin. In the study, the poetry books and fairy tales that Mustafa Ruhi Şirin wrote to children were discussed in terms of "what kind of sensitivities it gives to the child". In this study, which is a qualitative research with a basic qualitative research design and data are collected through document analysis. The whole work is about Mustafa Ruhi Şirin's children's poems and tales. As a result of the study, Mustafa Ruhi Şirin's children's poems and tales have many signs of sensitivity. In these works, which are very rich in terms of sensitivity training, it was found that the most common element of sensitivity was, "sensitivity to imagination and its power". These two are followed by sensitivity to the child and childhood. It was found that Mustafa Ruhi Şirin used an implicit narrative in his works. It is concluded that, through poetry and fairy tales, Şirin aimed to make children think, question and wonder, to make inferences by realizing the cause and effect relations and thus to enable them to reach the desired sensitivity. In terms of sensitivity training, it is concluded that poem and fairy tale is a very important species and it should be used in child education.
