Abstract (EN)
This study examines the relationship between job satisfaction levels and organisational commitment of the employees working in Mosul Municipality. Within the scope of the research, data on demographic information, job satisfaction, organisational commitment and related factors were collected from 104 participants. The data obtained were subjected to statistical analyses and various results were obtained. According to the results of the analysis, the overall job satisfaction and organisational commitment levels of the participants are at average levels. The item with the highest score among the items of the job satisfaction scale was "I am proud of doing my job", while the item with the lowest score was "I have very few chances for promotion in my job". Among the items of the organisational commitment scale, the item with the highest score was "If I had not given so much effort to this institution, I might consider working elsewhere", while the item with the lowest score was "I do not feel any obligation to continue working in the municipality". The study evaluated the effects of demographic factors (gender, marital status, age, education level, length of service and title) on job satisfaction and organisational commitment. The findings show that these factors generally do not significantly affect the levels of job satisfaction and organisational commitment. As a result, recommendations are presented to strengthen the job satisfaction and organisational commitment of Mosul Municipality's staff. These recommendations include effective strategies in various areas such as internal communication strategies, career development programmes, employee involvement and feedback processes.
