In this research, students who had been successful in the entrance exams of Gazi University Gazi Education Faculty of Music Education Department 2007 -2008 are examined in terms of melodic and rhythmic hearing success levels.This research includes 259 students who passed the first part of the entrance exams of Gazi University Gazi Education Faculty of Music Education Department 2007 -2008. The sample was drawn from the students who were passed the entrance examination and accepted to GUGEFME Department.In the scope of this research, the succesfull students scores had been charted using frequencies and percentages. By preparing forms, the opinions of the experts were taken in order to be analyzed.In the result of the study, the students who passed the exams had been examined in terms of melodic and rhythm hearing success levels. Then these indications had been interpreted in order to get to some specific conclusions. Suggestions had been given based on the conclusions and expert opinions.
