Investigation of the relationship between music teacher candidates' creativity and instrument self-efficiency and attitudes towards their instruments

This study aims to examine and evaluate the relationship between creativity and instrument self-efficacy and between creativity and attitudes towards instruments of music teacher candidates. This study is in a descriptive relational scanning model. The study's sample group consists of 436 music teacher candidates studying in the music education department of the faculty of education at different universities in Turkey. Data were collected with a personal information form, How Creative Are You Scale, Self-Efficacy Scale for Instrument Performance and Instrument Attitude Scale. In the analysis of the data, first of all; For the reliability analysis results of the scales, Cronbach Alpha coefficient values were examined. Then, the level of relationship between the creativity levels of music teacher candidates and their self-efficacy scores regarding instrument performance, and the relationship between the creativity levels of music teacher candidates and their attitudes towards their instruments were evaluated with the Pearson correlation coefficient. The reliability of the data obtained from the measurement tools used in the study was examined with the Cronbach Alpha reliability coefficient and the findings showed that the data was reliable for analysis. As a result of the findings obtained from the data collected from music teacher candidates, it was determined that there was no relationship between their creativity and self-efficacy according to the correlation analysis findings. It was concluded that there was a low level of relationship between the creativity of music teacher candidates and their attitudes towards their instruments.
