Abstract (EN)
In this study, static bending of nano scaled beams under distributed/point load has been investigated. It is the result of the experimental studies in which the classical theory of elasticity cannot be used in the mechanical behavior of nano-scale structures. For this reason, static behavior has been investigated by using higher-order continuum theories involving the size effect. The theories used are non-local elasticity, modified couple stress, modified strain gradient and surface energy. Accordingly, the displacement equations of beams have been obtained for different higher-order continuum theories. Displacement values have been presented under the influence of different theories and these numerical results have been discussed. As a result of the study, it has been understood that the size effect is a factor to be considered for the static analysis of nano scaled structures.
