Abstract (EN)

This study related to reduction of sodium bentonite clay used in drilling muds according to TSE EN ISO 13500 standard of Çankırı Eldivan region to nano size in laboratory conditions. Sodium bentonite clay was first subjected to grinding, followed by separation with gravity method and purification by removing heavy metals and organic compounds. The finished product, which is produced as a result of the processes carried out, is named Nanobentonite-1. Subsequently, in order to accelerate the production process of Nanobentonite-1 and to reduce the cost, it was first subjected to a heating process of 475 ° C and the water molecules within it were removed. Then, grinding was applied again and it was purified by gravity method. The resulting product was named Nanobentonite-2. The physical and chemical analyzes of the resulting products (Nanobentonite-1 and Nanobentonite-2) were carried out and the characterization of Nanobentonite-2 was determined.
