Abstract (EN)
In this study, the dried pomegranate (Punica granatum L.) peels were used to obtain the vegetable pomegranate peel extract in solid form and aimed to develop a semi-solid gel formulation for use in the wound healing treatment. With the antioxidants in the herbal extracts and the flavanoids specific to the pomegranate peels, it is thought that the prepared extract will play an active role in wound closure treatment. Semi-solid gel formulation was developed for wound healing and characterization treatments were making for this semi-solid gel formulation. Cytotoxicity levels for pomegranate peel extract and concentration values suitable for wound closure were found in in vitro experiments. In the light of these values, dissolution experiments were made with a gel containing active substance and kinetic values were calculated.
