Intellectual and manual labor in the process of globalization and neoliberalism

The concept of labour has been very influencing throught history in the social, economic and political fields. Today the issue of labor is also present in the field of international relations. In particular, with the influence of globalization, especially in the 21. Century, there has been important changes in the understanding of labour in relation to the division of labour production, consumption and the need for workers in term of the in skills. Especially, globalization the most effective factor in the transformation of labor into, manual and intellectual labor. In the neo-liberal global process we live in, the two types of labor have differentianed because of the change in the information economy, and the need for more intellectual labor. However, the intellectual labors who use their mind in the field of knowledge to differentiate themselves from manual labors have never come to a more privileges and secure position than the manual labor. In the neo-liberal global system, the intellectual labor such academians with the free market logic of the capitalist system. Anew secure and just system for the two types of labor must be implemented and gap between manual and intellectual labor must be overcome.
