Abstract (EN)

Nawavi (d. 676/1277), is one of the most prominent scholars in the Islamic scientific tradition. Although he became famous mostly for fiqh and hadith, he also made contributions to sciences such as tabaqat and Sufism. He is one of the rare scholars who was able to deeply influence the thought of Ahl al-Sunnah in particular, as well as influencing and gaining the trust of the Islamic society in general with his knowledge in religious sciences. Nawavi, did not write an independent work in the field of belief, but he included many religious issues in his different works and expressed his opinions on these issues. Although he has not written a work exclusive to the field of belief, his views in the field of belief have been accepted by the society with the confidence he has gained with his scientific personality. For this reason, it can be said that Nawavi's theological aspect should be studied and it should be determined whether he has a theologian personality. Essentially, his theological views have been discussed in some studies in the Arab academy, but there is no study on his theological views in the Turkish academy. In our opinion, it is a deficiency that the views of a scholar like Nawavi on theological issues, which are one of the most fundamental issues of religion, are not found in Turkish literature. Therefore, a study in this field is at least as important as studying their views in other fields. For this reason, in the present study, Nawavî's life was discussed and then his different theological thoughts were brought together and turned into a thesis. Although the work of al-Minhaj was taken as the basis in the study, other works of his were also used when the place was reached. The Arabic language of this work is based on, but sometimes a translation of the work is also used.
