Nevzat Ayaz's life and activities (1930-2020)

In our study, we discussed the life of Nevzat Ayaz, an important figure raised by Çankırı, who was appointed as the civil administrator by the political will after serving as a manager in Turkey's security bureaucracy, and entered politics after his retirement. Although Ayaz's life is at the center of our study, examining his life also means dealing with the recent past of our country. In the first part of our study, which consists of three parts apart from the introduction, information about the world and the country's agenda at the time Nevzat Ayaz opened his eyes to life is given. His family, education life, marriage and death are also mentioned in the first chapter. In the second part, Nevzat Ayaz's life as a civil servant, where he held which positions and the general situation of the country, especially terrorism, were discussed through Ayaz's life. In the third part, we focused on Ayaz's entry into politics, his projects and actions, especially his hometown Çankırı, after he became a minister. The parliamentary session minutes, which are among the resources we will use in this section, are of great importance in terms of showing the country's defense and education struggle in the 90s. In the conclusion part of our study, we have revealed how a person who has spent most of his life outside his hometown because of his duty, and who does not forget his essence, deserves the definition of "Statesman".
