Philosophy of Nietzsche, modernism, morality and immoralism

The aim of this study is to show deeply the philosophy of Nietzsche on morality, to analyze the reasons of the claims that he is an immoralist and as a result to evaluate whether he?s an immoralist or not. To understand Nietzsche, firstly his look to philosophy and philosophers is studied. Next, Nietzsche?s basic conceptions; the will to power, decadence, nihilism, perspectivism, the death of god, the principle of eternal return and overman (übermensch) is studied and explained one by one. On the study; the explanation of modernism has also taken place. As well as the conceptional view, Nietzsche?s philosophy on morality is mentioned because he is against modernism and modernism?s moral understanding. Nietzsche discusses that two moral views occur during history. These are slave morality and master morality. On the contrary to people believes, morality did not come from divine sources. Morality is a man made value and according to Nietzsche this comment is related to the man?s nature that made it. According to Nietzsche who claims that men are not equal, people have different natures as strong and weak. Morality has more than one explanation because it is occurred by the comments of different perspectives of men with different natures and it is very natural. Herd morality appeared from the needs to protect the men but in time become divine and been over a singe person. According to Nietzsche, although it is natural if it is stable inside, herd morality became dangerous when it stresses and pressures on the strong. This morality which causes decadence of men and ruling out humane instincts and real life must be annihilated. Nietzsche comes out against slave morality on this hand and thinks that it must be countered. At this point Nietzsche is an immoralist. But his immoralism is a necessary milestone to compose new values. The final aim is not an insignificant life due to the fact that according to Nietzsche where man exists evaluation is unavoidable.
