Critical edition and analysis of Nişancizâde's Nûru'l-'Ayn (Chapter 32)

The work of Bedreddin Simavi (d. 823/1420) called as Câmiʿu'l-Fusûleyn that was written by assembling el-Fusûl fi'l-Muʿâmelât of Üsrûşenî (ö. 632/1235) and Fusûlü'l-ihkâm fî usûli'l-ahkâm of Zeynüddin el-Merginânî (ö. 670/1271) has become a guidebook for qadies (Muslim judges) who need to look at the previous provisions in the matters they face. In order to benefit better from the work called Câmiʿu'l-Fusûleyn, Nişancızâde Muhyiddin Mehmed (ö.1031/1621) compiled Nûru'l-ʿayn fî Islâhi Câmiʿi'l-Fusûleyn by editing the entire work. In this study, improvement effort of Nişancızâde is analyzed by investigating and analyzing chapter 32 of Nûru'l-ʿayn fî Islâhi Câmiʿi'l-Fusûleyn in particular. This study consists of three sections. In the first section, since issues of compensation were taken part in the chapter 32 of Nûru'l-ʿayn, the concept of "damân" was analyzed and also each of the titles included in the chapter were briefly introduced. In the second section, in terms of the chapter examined, it was tried to systematically present findings about what kind of enhancement and editing Nişancızâde realized. Finally in the third section, it was analyzed the chapter 32 of Nûru'l-ʿayn by predicating on two different author's copies.
