Abstract (EN)

In this study, the ligand of 3-brom-5-chlorosalicyliden-p-iminoacetophenone oxime (LH) was prepared by the reaction of 3-brom-5-chlorosalicylaldehyde with p-aminoacetophenoneoxime. The complexes were prepared by the reaction of these Schiff base ligands with Co+2, Ni+2, Cu+2 and Zn+2 acetate. Schiff bases obtained have been characterized by their Elemental analyses, IR, 1H-NMR, 13C-NMR, Uv, Magnetic Susceptibility and Thermogravimetric analyses (TGA). All of the Schiff bases were found to be bidentate ligands involving the imino nitrogen and carboxyl oxygen atoms in the complexes. Metal to ligand ratio were found to be 1:2 for all of the complexes. Co+2, Ni+2, Cu+2 and Zn+2 complexes have been found tetrahedral geometry.
