Abstract (EN)

According to the data obtained, an experiment was conducted in date palm groves infected with the Batrachedra amydraula Meyrick pest during the 2022–2021 season. The objective of this experiment was to determine the economic damage that the pest had caused to the Khistawi species of date palm and to assess how well some conventional and nano-formulated insecticides controlled the pest. In addition, the insecticides used were prepared in nanoformulation, and a morphological and partial classification was made for the adults of the pest. Chemical insecticides such as oxymatrin and deltamethrin and integrated control methods such as nanoinsecticides and Bacillus thuringiensis bacteria were used to control the pest. According to the results of the statistical analysis, there was a significant difference between the duration of exposure to insecticides and the average killing rate of the Batrachedra amydraula Meyrick pest. After 14 days of insecticide exposure, the kill rate increased significantly and reached 89.519%. This shows a significant difference when compared to the exposure time after 7 days, as the kill rate during this period was recorded at 66.130%. On the other hand, when the exposure time to the insecticide was 3 days, the kill rate was lower on average, reaching 42.949%. Desis with insecticide treatment recorded the highest kill rate (98.46%) after 14 days, while Levu with normal formulation recorded the lowest kill rate (25.68%) when the insecticide exposure time was 3 days. The morphological characteristics of the palm tree showed an increase in fruit length, fruit weight, and fruit diameter. Levu insecticide with nano formulation showed higher values of 3.750 cm in fruit length, 2.394 cm in fruit diameter, and 11.250 grams in fruit weight. These results clearly demonstrate the effects of the control process.
