Abstract (EN)

In the thesis study, the design criteria of rehabilitation centers that will enable individuals with special needs to make sense of their environment, facilitate their use, increase spatial awareness, facilitate physical access, and reduce stress have been examined. The study aimed to investigate the relationship between neuroscience and architecture and to reveal the concept of neuroscience interactive space through special education and rehabilitation centers. It is aimed to develop a set of suggestions regarding the new rehabilitation centers to be planned for individuals with special needs and the design criteria of the rehabilitation centers that continue to be used, with the examinations and findings. The literature review was conducted in the fields of architecture and neuroscience. Space design criteria in the field of architecture; In the common field of architecture and neuroscience, studies investigating the effect of space design on the human brain were examined and it was observed that although there are many training centers for children with special needs in our country, they are insufficient in line with the needs of the user. In order for individuals with special needs to receive education without being marginalized, they should feel that they really belong to places, not different. In this direction, the main purpose of the research was to open the way for interdisciplinary work and to benefit from research on the experience of neuroscience of human in space.
