Costs and benefits of nuclear plant in terms of economy of Turkey

Today, the concept of energy has become an indispensable element that plays an important role in meeting the needs of human beings in daily life and in the development of countries. Nuclear energy is used in many countries both for the purpose of meeting the country's electricity needs and as a commercial product. The thesis, due to transformation of initiatives into activity and planning of new projects in Turkey was written in order to examine the benefits and costs which can be arising from this energy. In the first part of the study, the concept of energy and its place in the global framework were explained, in the second part, the history, characteristics, positive and negative aspects and results of nuclear energy and the general situation in the world were explained. In the third part, Turkey's energy situation, its energy situation the relationship with the economy, Turkey's nuclear power history and status has described. In the fourth part of the study the costs and benefits of nuclear energy for Turkey were examined. In addition, other alternative energy sources were searched considered as an alternative option for Turkey in comparison with the option of nuclear energy and the necessity of nuclear energy were discussed
