Abstract (EN)
An application of Geant4 simulation toolkit to radionuclide therapy has been studied. Monte Carlo calculations for radiation transport has been extensively inroduced. Geant4 simulation toolkit and its specifications are introduced. Geant4 applications to medical physics and its advantages over other MC simulation codes have been explained.Five of the beta emitting radionuclides used in nuclear medicine, Er-169, P-32, Ho-166, Re-188 and Y-90 have been simulated as isotropic point sources for 10000 events in three different media which are water, tissue and bone. The energy that these radionuclides deposited in a 1 cm radius sphere are calculated by using Geant4 simulation toolkit as doses in Gy. It is found that the doses increases while the average beta energy increases, and the doses that one radionuclide causes decrease while the density of the material increase.
