Abstract (EN)
Painting art has an important place in Turkish Art. Nuri Abaç is one of many artists who have set their hearts on painting. Carrying the past in a sensitive manner to the future, Abaç has added a distinct breath and interpretation to our national culture, and has gained an important place by bringing our traditional painting art to a synthesis with contemporary technique and original content. Nuri Abaç was influenced by Anatolian Turkish Arts, especially Islamic Miniature and Shadow Play. Accordingly, the main purpose of our research is to examine the pictures of Nuri Abaç on Karagöz Shadow Play after 1975. In this context, the effects of the Karagöz shadow play characters and games on Nuri Abaç's paintings were investigated. In his paintings, Nuri Abaç benefited from characters such as Zenneler, Çelebi, Beberuhi, Tiryaki, Baba Himmet, except Karagöz and Hacivat. In addition, the main Karagöz shadow plays that are influenced by Abaç are: "Kütahya Fountain", "Cazular", "Tahmis", "Forest", "Bath", "Grocery", "Kağıthane Stage", "Swing", "Bloody Nigâr" are games like. In the paintings he made in parallel with these games, it is seen that he deals with similar issues several times; For example, subjects such as "Boat of Karagöz", "Karagöz Kahveci", "Karagöz's Mansion", "Karagöz Porter", "Karagöz Bath" were repeated in different compositions. Keywords: Nuri Abaç, Karagöz, Hacivat, Picture, Fantastic
