A study on the effect of instructional leadership on task motivation: A research in educational institutions in Nevşehi̇r

Education can be expressed as one of the important concepts of social development. Considering the leader as the leader who drags the society behind him, the concepts of leader and leadership have been the subject of research for years and continue to be so. The concept of instructional leadership, which can be defined as the managerial activities carried out to achieve the sequential goals determined by teachers together with their students and their parents and to achieve the desired goals by evaluating, supporting and improving the quality in this process, has a very important place in educational terms. Work efficiency and job satisfaction for the continuation and continuity of the working life of institutions; In order to get efficiency from employees, it is necessary for the employee to have high task motivation. Studies conducted over the years on motivation also reveal the importance of the subject. The aim of this study, which examines the task motivation of teachers who exhibit instructional leadership behaviors in educational institutions, is to evaluate the relationship between the level of instructional leadership behaviors and task motivation in the context of teachers and school administrators. The research was conducted with teachers and school administrators in the sample educational institutions in Nevşehir province in Turkey. The research is descriptive. In this study, a survey was preferred as the data collection tool. The survey, which was combined with the permission of the researchers who created the teachers' instructional leadership roles scale and the task motivation level scale, was applied to the teachers and the research was completed based on quantitative data. The data obtained in the research were analyzed with the SPSS 21.0 package program. Cronbach's Alpha reliability test, Cross frequency table, Correlation analysis and Regression analysis were used in the analysis of survey-based data. In statistical tests; The independent variable was determined as the instructional leadership roles of teachers, and the dependent variable was determined as teachers' task motivation. As a result of the analysis conducted in this context, it was determined that there was a significant and positive relationship between teachers' instructional leadership roles and task motivation. It has been observed that teachers' instructional leadership roles have an impact on task motivation. After the research, research suggestions were made to researchers interested in the subject that could support the research results and enable the research to be carried to wider audiences.
