Determination of preservice teachers views on social distance

Abstract (EN)

In this study aiming to determine the pre-service teachers' views on social distance, quantitative research design and descriptive-scanning model were used. The universe of the study consists of preservice teachers who were studying in Social Studies, Turkish, Mathematics and Teaching at Primary School Departments in Gaziantep University in 2017-2018.In the study, five-point lilert type scale was used as data collection tool. The scale used by Bogardus was reorganized by the researcher herself adding new substances. The scale was applied to four hundred one preserviceteachers.SPSS 22 package program was used to analyze the data obtained from the study.Percentage, frequency, arithmetic mean, t test and variance analysis were performed to analyze the data entered into the SPSS program. According to the findings of the study, it was seen that there was a significant difference between the social distance points of women and the social distance points of the men, the total distance scores of the participants at different age level did not show statistically significant difference and the social distance scores of the participants did not differ according to the income level variable.
