A research for the democratic attitudes degree of the managers of primary and secondary school in point of the teacher perceptions (Atasehir in İstanbul)

The purpose of this research is to determine the democratic attitudes degree of the managers of primary and secondary school in point of the teacher perceptions. The research had achieved on the teachers who work at the primary and secondary schools in Ataşehir district. The sampling group of the research had been formed by 319 teacher who were chosen by coincidental at 18 school. The scale which is used at this research was formed three part: Personal Knowledge Form and ''Democratic Inclinations Scale'', ''Degree of Manager's Democratization Survey'' that were progressed by Zencirci (2003). After gathering the surverys, datas had been analyzed entering to SPSS 15.0 programme. The frequency (f) and percentage (%) values determining the demographic characteristics of the teachers constituting the sampling group have been subtracted. Then, frequency (f), mean (x) and standard deviation (ss) points have been calculated for the points obtained from the scales. Non-parametric analysis techniques have been used for groups (n<30) that didn't show normal distribution figures where as parametric analysis techniques have been used for groups that showed normal distribution figures. The result of the research teachers said that primary and secondary school managers' attitudes were ''sometimes'' (x ̅=3,26) democratic. The teachers, who were graduated altered faculties, said that the school manager was more democratic when we compare with the teachers who were graduated from the education faculty. The result had been achieved that there wasn't a meaningful difference for the teachers' primary and secondary school managers' democratic attitude grades belongs to the related ideas's duties, education levels as statistic way. The teachers' who has got an autocratic and democratic inclinations found the school management ''sometimes'' democratic and between the groups there was no meaningful difference. The number of the teacher who has got an autocratic inclinations for 319 person at the sampling group should only be 4 person formed generalization affected at the negative way.
