Abstract (EN)

In the last 30 years, various assessment systems were organized as transitional stages from elementary to secondary education. Some deficiencies of these examinations were identified after they were used for a while and they were replaced by a new assessment system. The process could not be put into order and a structural regulation could not be implemented. While the exams which are carried out in different stages of education crate negative effects on students, also the frequent changes in the implementation increase the negative effect level on students. It is not possible to have a perfect assessment system; there may be some positive and negative features and some problems in the implementation process. Therefore, it is necessary to accept that like other system, TEOG system can have positive and negative features and there may be various problems while implementing it. In order for the success of this assessment system, negative features of the system and problems in the implementation process should be eliminated or some precautions should be taken for the stakeholders, who are not only students, parents but also teachers at schools, in order to make them less affected by these negative features. The aim of this study is to determine the problems that teachers in different branches, students and parents face related to TEOG system in Yozgat province. Concurrent triangulation design of mixed method research had been used in the study. In this project, quantitative and qualitative data collection tools had been used evenly, data were analyzed separately and they were combined in the interpretation phase. The sample of the research change in each phase and it comprise of 2030 participants in total. In the study, scales which determine the problems that teachers, students and parents face in TEOG system and semi-structured interviews had been used as data collection tools. The data that acquired from the applied scale were analyised by using a statistic programme. Average, standard deviation and percentages had been found for the variables in the scale. The data obtained from the interviews were firstly transcripted. These transcriptions had been analyzed by two different researchers. The researchers had made descriptive analysis and they formed codes. Main themes and sub-themes had been constituted by carrying out content analysis. At the end of study, it was determined that there are some problems related to TEOG such as preparing process of exam, contexts of exam, application of exam, breathing time of exam, calculation of exam score and preferences of students.
