The relation-ship between teachers? altruistic behaviors and value preference of teachers

The aim of the present study is to determine the relation-ship between teachers? altruisticbehaviors and value preference of teachers.The present study was applied on the 341 teachers who works in primary and secondaryschools in private schools and public schools of İstanbul Province.In this research; An information form inclined to gathering demographic variables, TeacherAltruism Scale and Schwartz Values Scale were used. In the resarch, non parametriktechnigues, parametrik analysis technigues, independent group t- test, single ? sided varianceanalysis ( Annova ), non parametrik Kruskal Wallis test, non parametric Mann Whitney - Utest, Pearson Correlation analysis being used, expressiveness levels were tested on the p<.05minimum level.With the findings of this research, existing of the relationship the subscales of the altruismscale (everyday helping, social responsibility/sharing, emergency helping and donation ) , thetotal of teacher altruism scale and demographic characteristics of teachers has been putforward.On the other hands, With the findings of this research, existing of the relationship thesubscales of Schwartz values scale (universalism, self-direction, benevolence,conformity,security, achievement, tradition, hedonism, stimulation, and power) and thesubscales of the altruism scale of teachers has been put forward.Key Words: Altruism, Teacher, Prosocial, Values
