Abstract (EN)

This study aims to determine teachers' curriculum awareness in terms of cognitive, affective, and psychomotor sub-dimensions. The sample of this research, which is designed with survey model, one of the quantitative research methods, consists of 417 preschool, primary, secondary, and high school teachers working in the city centre and districts of Siirt. The data of the research were collected through online platforms using the Curriculum Awareness Scale (ÖPFÖ), which was developed by the researcher within the scope of this research and whose validity and reliable evidence were revealed. The collected data were analysed through the parametric tests such as independent samples t test and one-way ANOVA (analysis of variance); and non-parametric tests such as Mann Whitney U test and Kruskal Wallis H Test. As a result of analysing the data using quantitative data analysis techniques, it was revealed that the cognitive, affective, and psychomotor awareness of the teachers about the curriculum did not show a statistically significant difference according to their gender, branches, educational status, education level and titles. On the other hand, it was found that the cognitive and affective awareness of teachers in the curriculum differed statistically according to their seniority, and cognitive and affective awareness levels increased as the seniority period increased. Besides, a statistically significant relationship was found between teachers' cognitive, affective, and psychomotor awareness of the curriculum and the type of faculty they graduated from and the school they work in. According to the results, it was seen that teachers who graduated from education faculties had higher cognitive, affective, and psychomotor awareness of the curriculum compared to teachers graduated from other faculties and the teachers working in private schools had higher cognitive, affective, and psychomotor awareness of the curriculum compared to teachers working in public schools. Considering the general state of awareness of the teachers participating in the study about the curriculum, it was concluded that the teachers' awareness in both general and sub-dimensions (cognitive, affective, and psychomotor) was high.
