The relationship between teachers' organizational citizenship behavior and organizational happiness levels

This research aimed to examine the relationship between teachers' organizational citizenship behaviors and their organizational happiness levels. At the same time, it was investigated whether the variables of school type, gender, seniority and marital status make a difference in terms of organizational citizenship behavior and organizational happiness level. The universe of this relational survey type research consists of 508 classroom and branch teachers working in 31 official primary, secondary and high schools in the Gerede district of Bolu. No sample was selected in this study. Organizational Citizenship Behavior Scale developed by Polat (2007) and Organizational Happiness Scale adapted to Turkish by Arslan and Polat (2017) were used as data collection tools. The obtained data were analyzed using the SPSS 22 program. The skewness and kurtosis values were found separately for the organizational citizenship scale and the organizational happiness scale, and normality tests were applied. Mann-Whitney U tests were used for pairwise group comparisons and Kruskal-Wallis tests were used for more than two-group comparisons. Spearman Rho Correlation analysis test was used to determine the relationship between organizational citizenship and organizational happiness. As a result of the research, it was determined that there is a positive and moderately significant relationship between teachers' organizational citizenship behaviors and their organizational happiness. In addition, as a result of the research, it was determined that teachers' organizational citizenship behaviors and organizational happiness levels were high in general. This study showed a positive result in terms of showing that teachers' organizational citizenship behavior can be a useful variable that can contribute to organizational happiness and increasing communication, performance, cooperation, cooperation, cohesion and corporate culture
