Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study is to determine teachers' opinions about their social capital levels and work engagement levels and to reveal whether there is a significant relationship between these variables. In this research conducted in the quantitative research method and relational screening model, 451 teachers working in public (official) schools affiliated to the Ministry of National Education in the city of Gerede in the 2020-2021 academic year consituted the study universe of this research. By using the simple random sampling method, which is one of the random sampling methods, 250 teachers were reached to represent the population of this study. The study was carried out online. In the study, "Personal Information Form", "Social Capital Scale" and "Work Engagement Scale" were used in order to collect necessary data regarding teachers' opinions. Mann Whitney-U test and Kruskal Wallis H test were used to determine whether teachers' scores differ according to personal variables in these scales. In addion, Spearman's rho Correlation Analysis was used to reveal the relationship between teachers' social capital levels and work engagement levels. The significance was tested at the 0.05 level and the findings were presented in accordance with the aims of the study. According to the results of the research; it was determined that teachers' social capital levels and work engagement levels are "high". There is a strong, positive and significant relationship between teachers' social capital levels anda work engagement levels according to this study. It was concluded that as teachers' social capital levels increase, their work engagement levels also increase positively and significantly. Keywords: Teacher, Social Capital, Work Engagement
