Occupational creativity in teaching: An interpretative phenomenological analysis study

Occupational creativity in teaching plays a significant role in child development. Various and creative learning-teaching methods help to increase occupational motivation and also help for physical and emotional development of children. This study aims to investigate teachers' occupational creativity experiences with their own perspectives. For this purpose, semi-structed in-depth interviews were conducted with six participants. The interviews were analyzed by using Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis. As a result of the analysis, four superordinate themes were created; which are 'experiencing the creativity', 'cope with the difficulties', 'effects of the teaching', 'suggestions for teacher candidates'. Results were presented with superordinate themes, their subordinate themes and related quotations from participants' interviews. In this study, 'occupational creativity in teaching' was analyzed with the results and literature researches. The limitations of this study were discussed and future directions were proposed for to contribute investigations of 'occupational creativity' and 'creativity in teaching'. In conclusion, this study questioned the positioning of the teachers among the learning environment, and their crucial role to renew creativity in the society.
